Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey with salt, pepper, sage, thyme, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well to evenly distribute the spices.
- Add maple syrup (if using) and mix again until well incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into patties, about ½ inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the sausage patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Serve warm with eggs, toast, or your favorite breakfast sides. Enjoy!
Notes
- Make Ahead & Freeze: Shape the patties and freeze them raw on a parchment-lined tray. Once frozen, transfer them to a ziplock bag for easy storage. Cook from frozen, adding 2-3 extra minutes per side.
- Serving Ideas: These sausages pair well with avocado toast, sautéed greens, or a breakfast wrap.
- Spice it Up: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or extra red pepper flakes for a spicy kick!
- Substitutions: Swap maple syrup for honey or leave it out for a sugar-free version.
