Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate (Passover-approved)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (or margarine)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (kosher for Passover)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- Whisk in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Sift in the cocoa powder and salt; stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until set in the center.
- Let cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar or serving with fresh berries.
Notes
To make it dairy-free, substitute butter with kosher-for-Passover margarine. Pairs wonderfully with raspberry sauce or a dollop of whipped coconut cream.
